Your data & security

Your data is hosted in France and remains yours

Telemesure is published by Grolleau, a French manufacturer. Here, in plain language, is where your data is stored, who can access it and what we do to protect it. We describe what is in place today, nothing more.

Publisher and hosting

A French publisher, a platform hosted in France

You know who publishes Telemesure, where the platform is hosted and which law governs your contract.

A clearly identified French publisher

Telemesure is published by Grolleau SA, a French industrial company that designs and manufactures technical cabinets, enclosures and technical shelters for energy, telecoms and urban infrastructure.

A platform hosted in France

The platform and your data are hosted by French hosting providers, Scaleway (Paris) and OVHcloud.

Access

Protected access, with rights you choose

Your account is protected from the moment you sign in, and you decide what each user can do.

Sign-in

An encrypted connection, protected passwords

Everything exchanged between your screen and the platform is encrypted: that is HTTPS, shown by the padlock in your browser. Your password, for its part, is never stored in plain text: we only keep a fingerprint of it, a code calculated from it that lets us check your password without keeping it.

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS) to the portal, the mobile app and the API
  • On the portal, a sufficiently strong password required from the moment it is created
  • Two-factor authentication for the web portal, which each user can choose to turn on
  • Sign-in attempts in quick succession slowed down automatically
  • Automatic sign-out after a period of inactivity

Two-factor authentication is a second check after your password: a temporary code, shown by an app on your phone. Once it is turned on, the password alone is no longer enough to sign in to the web portal.

Users and rights

Your own space, with rights for each user

Each customer has their own space. Your account administrator creates the users there and sets each person’s rights, for example:

  • Manage the account and its users
  • Add devices
  • Create and edit alert rules
  • Choose who is notified, how and when
  • Connect your software to the API (developer access)

Behind the scenes

What we do to protect the platform

You don’t see it in the portal, but it is in place.

  • Your sensors’ keys, encrypted

Your sensors’ security keys, the secret codes specific to each device, are stored in encrypted form in our database.

  • Automatic backups

The database is backed up automatically by our hosting provider.

  • Errors reported automatically

Platform errors are reported automatically to the technical team.

  • A test server for new versions

A server separate from the platform you use lets us test new versions before they go live.

  • Temporary access for your software

The API is the entry point designed for your own software. Your software connects to it with a short-lived pass: the main key is only used to obtain that pass and is not sent with every exchange.

Your data

Your data belongs to you

You can export it whenever you wish, and our commitments are written into our general terms and conditions of sale.

  1. During the contract

You export your devices’ readings in CSV format, for the period of your choice: the file is sent to you by email.

  2. At the end of the contract

Your data is returned to you: this is known as reversibility.

  3. Afterwards

Once your data has been returned to you, it is deleted from the platform.

CSV: a simple file format that opens in your usual spreadsheet software.

  • GDPR, written into our terms and conditions

Our commitments are set out in our general terms and conditions of sale. Under them, Grolleau acts as a processor, in other words on your behalf: we only process your data on your instructions, and we inform you of any personal data breach within the time limit set by those terms and conditions.

The GDPR is the European regulation on the protection of personal data.

  • No advertising, no analytics

The portal uses no advertising cookies and no analytics tools. Only necessary technical cookies are set, for example to keep you signed in.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about security

Is two-factor authentication mandatory?

No. Each user chooses whether to turn it on from their profile: it then applies when they sign in to the web portal. We recommend it, particularly for account administrators.

On the mobile app, you sign in with your username and password, over an encrypted connection.

How do I get my data back?

At any time, from a device’s page, you can request an export of its readings for the period of your choice: a CSV file is sent to you by email.

At the end of the contract, your data is returned to you (this is known as reversibility), then deleted from the platform.

Do my sensors’ readings pass through other parties?

Yes. Before reaching the platform, they travel over the radio or mobile network that each sensor uses and, for some devices, through their manufacturer’s online service. Once received, they are stored on the platform, with our French hosting providers.

Our IT department has specific questions. Who should they contact?

Write to us at support@telemesure.net: we will be glad to answer their questions, before or during the demo.
